•  Stock market stage a strong rebound this month on rising hope of a coronavirus vaccine and gradual reopening of the economy
•  However, the lack of clarity on the reopening of the economy coupled with worrisome economic indicators is likely to put a brake on further growth in the stock market
• US economy shrank 4.8% in the first quarter with more than 30 million Americans filing for unemployment claims over the last 6 weeks
•  Based on these key facts, it is highly likely that the stock market has gotten ahead of itself based on hopes

Mar 2020 Fund update

•  Fear led by the coronavirus has created one of the worst crisis since the financial crisis in 2008. This has resulted in unprecedented fiscal stimulus globally. Risk remain high as long as the infection rate shows no sign of slowing down. The outbreak has infected over 800,000 people globally and has now killed over 39,000 people.

Feb 2020 Fund update

•  Global market rout caused by the coronavirus fear is one of the worst since the financial crisis in 2008. The outbreak has infected over 80,000 people globally and has now killed over 2800 people.
• S&P500 suffered an 11% drop over 5 days in one of its worst weekly sell-down since Oct 2008. The S&P500 fell into correction territory in the shortest time since the great recession. The Dow Jones Industrial Average has plunged 12% for the week, falling to its lowest level since June.
• The 10-year treasury yield dropped to a new record low as more cash was funneled into defensive asset
